If we want love, we need to be Love.
What moves us is the deep warmth of who we are, what we want is the impulse of this Self towards its full expression. But what is to want? We often desire certain situations, experiences or objects, and when we achieve them, far from celebrating the path and the meeting point, we continue to look for the unattainable. This kind of desire comes from the ego of the character we have created and who seeks external success, social, family or professional recognition.
If you look within, you will realize that this desire to possess is not purely what you desire, but what you long for most is to find your own well-being, your own peace, or in other words a state of perpetual Love. That is why nothing we can buy or acquire in the physical world will satisfy the deep need of Self. The ability to recognize a void in one's own existence is admirable; when this is possible, we can understand from the heart the pain we are experiencing in our day to day and thus take care of ourselves in this quest for growth and well-being.
Because welfare, the state of benevolence, that is, having the needs covered, at the same time refers to a "state of benevolence" and what is "benevolence"? The ability to be benevolent towards oneself or others involves compassion and forgiveness. And following the root of these words, WELLfare, WELL-being, BENevolence, we arrive at the origin and reason of Being: Kindness.
What do we mean by DisComfort? The prefix dis- is related to a defect, damage or injury. In the philosophical aspect it refers to “deprivation of the good”, therefore following what we have explained above, if WellBeing is the Self in its natural state (Kindness), DisComfort coincides in the Self deprived of kindness, that is to say, the denial of Self.
One of the most common symptoms of unease is anxiety. How many people have not suffered and are suffering from these symptoms today? So anxiety is nothing more than self-distance, not listening to the Self that one Is and one's own Needs to sustain life in this plane in which we exist.
When an anxiety attack occurs, it can be very helpful to breathe to lower your vital signs and look inward at what we are deeply feeling, what we want, and what we are doing externally, deciding or demonstrating, whether with facts or words.
The discrepancy between the mental, emotional and spiritual systems generates an alteration of the energy flow, saturating the body in different ways, depending on the origin and the reasons why this lack of harmony occurs: in some cases the manifestation will be anxiety, in others depression, apathy, or exhaustion; overcoming the emotional and mental planes we get to the point of experiencing pain in the body itself in the form of infection, intolerance or illness.
In the superficial, we have many reasons to justify these states of pain and suffering, but in the deep the reality is always confluent: denial of the Self itself. Therefore, listening to oneself and seeking maximum coherence between bodies is a key element in living from and in WellBeing.
PRACTICES OF WELL-BEING
Here are some of the daily habits that bring us closer to WellBeing, wishing them to be useful in your day-to-day life
Solitude. As pointed out in the article on silence, maintaining spaces to be with oneself will facilitate a greater awareness of one's own mental habits, as well as a training for listening to who we really Are.
Recollection. In uncomfortable situations, recollection is a very valuable tool for protection and self-care. By recollection I mean the act of providing us with a space of Security and Love, either alone (such as curling up on the sofa with a pillow, having a hot drink…) or in company (looking for the hug or the support from a Beloved One who accompanies us from the heart to sustain the pain).
Nature. Contact with nature reminds us of the Natural rhythm of Life, it helps us to connect with our essence. Walking, doing sports or stopping and observing any natural element (from a flower at home, a garden, a park, mountains, fields, sea, rain or a sunset) can become acts of Consciousness which will help us to increase our presence in the Here and Now.
Humility and respect. Two basic values in my opinion and inseparables for Life. Humility is necessary to understand that everyone has something valuable and Respect is the tool from which we can approach the realities of others without judgment.
Give and receive. Some people have difficulty listening to their needs and always give; others have their needs so high that giving implies for them too much insecurity or risk. Both positions lead us to internal imbalances and to the fact that a part of us is neither being heard nor expressed. It is important to find the balance between giving and receiving, as they are two poles of the same aspect: the energy flow between Beings.
Gratitude. Being grateful for something that we have experienced every day helps us to connect with the abundance and also to value the opportunities that we are experiencing. It may be a good idea to think about it before going to bed or to write it down in a notebook as if it were a diary. Every occasion lived is worthy of the Deepest Gratitude and these gestures help us to understand the Value of Love behind each experience.
Forgiveness, compassion and self-compassion. The act of forgiving involves opening one's heart to offer love to the one who has harmed us, be it someone else or ourselves, for surely at some point the mind or previous experiences of failure have caused unnecessary pain that we impose on ourselves.
Confidence in One and All. The internal work and observation of what we live through all the habits I have listed above bring us closer to this feeling of (1) Confidence that empowers us to keep moving forward on our Path, Knowing We are able to overcome the circumstances with which we find ourselves, Confidence in One; and (2) acknowledging that there will come a time when we will understand that everything has its raison d'être and implies implicit learning for us, Confidence in Everything.
